Eatmor, Ohris - PG Road

I’ve visited this place 2 times under a week. It’s the best alternative to CCD if you are craving for some delicious and mouth-watering desserts and Shakes.

5 Carat:

I was skeptical before ordering a cold stone ice cream from Ohris but when I saw the guy who was to prepare the ice cream for me I jumped on it because he was the same guy from Oh so Stoned when they initially started operations in Karkhana. The ice cream is good and will not disappoint

Chocolate Frappe:

This shake is amazing primarily because of the use of the ice cream used and the sauce that goes in to give it that taste and consistency. This is a chocoholic’s delight. You can have this Frappe on your wish-list.

Caramel Frappe:

This is by far the best shake I’ve tasted in Hyderabad. I’ve been to Starbucks/ Gloria Jeans Coffee and others to try their caramel based drinks but this reminds me of the one I tasted at Sakleys(Delhi). This is heavenly! I’d recommend you to go ahead and try this. It derives its taste from the caramel sauce used and the ice cream that was left un-blended (it could be on purpose). You can savor this Frappe in every sip. A must have.

“If this becomes your fad, then no one can save you from getting fat” ;)

Captain Grub, DLF Phase-1

My last day in Delhi and we were on a binging spree.
Hungry at night we decided to try this Captain Grub out.

Sloppy Joe with Melted Cheese
My friend called it Atanki(one that spreads terror) Yes it indeed was atanki. Was huge and I was a complete mess by the time I was done. The burger though was on the average side in terms of taste. I couldn't taste the lamb and neither could I taste the cheese. But considering the time of delivery. This beats all others.

Loaded Mexican Delight
A sheer waste of money I feel. It had shredded chicken with a bit of cheeze mixed with nachos. Not worth it. Not at all.

Mad doggies
Sausage wrapped with bacon and cheese was the best. It tasted yum, perfectly cooked and balanced in taste. Though it's on the higher side in terms of pricing but totally a must have.

Penne Arrabbiata
Not cheesy and tested decent. Nothing extraordinary about it. Wouldn't miss out on anything if you let this one pass.

Kitkat Shake
The quantity I feel was not enough for the price charged. If the taste of the shake had been good, I wouldn't have cared but that too was on the decent to average level. Nothing great.

Overall this is the best place to order from when midnight food cravings strike. But mind you do not expect food that to be finger licking good.

I am rating it purely on the taste.

A walk at Jama

Chor Bazaar of Delhi is a place listed on Delhi tourism and we thought, why not?
Next day we are standing right there at 5 am looking at the hawkers sell stolen clothes and shoes at throw away prices and the cops seemes to be aware of it all.

We came across a vendor selling Biryani and decided to try it after much contemplation. It was decent for a 5 am dish.
Rice were not flavoured enough but had it in them the tinge of saffron used and that gave out a right aroma. The chicken was properly cooked and came off easy. For 30 bucks it was worth it.

I found the place(Chor Bazaar) highly over rated, where rip offs are more predominant than the real stuff and I've got a few words of caution for you, what you buy before sunrise will look totally different once the sun is up. No wonder this place is flourishing.
You've got to be a regular to fish out th best of stuff.

We then walked towards Jama Masjid for breakfast.
The lane opposite Jama Masjid Is all lit up at 7 am and you can smell good food cooking.
Picked out a place that looked hygienic and ordered for Nihari and Khorma.

Nihari
This was by far the best breakfast of mine in Delhi. Grated ginger, chopped chili and ghee made this Nihari something worth remembering. You've got to try this one.

Khorma.
Didn't really like it. It consisted of 3 pieces of mutton in onion based gravy but I personally didn't like it.

All we paid was 86 for the food we ate. That's economical.

After an hearty breakfast we headed out towards Chawdi Bazaar and came across a vendor selling something called Daulat ki Chaat.

Now I really have no ideas how it's prepared but it had whipped cream which was so light that you wouldn't even know you ate it.

It was served something like this,
White cream at the bottom, bread crumbs topped with cream that consistsed of saffron and ground sugar.
This is one Indian dessert that ought to be in every city of India. Never have I seen or eaten such an item in Hyderabad.

Well, this is my Delhi Chor BazaarI story, what's yours?

Changezi, Prirampura Delhi

We ended up at Pritampura Changezi at 5 and were told they do not start serving before 6:30 pm.

So we lingered around and entered the resraurant which is a few meters away at 6. We ordered Nihari first.
(This is my first time, never ate Nihari before)
Nihari
The plating was something like this, masala and chicken drowned in Ghee. N kidding. The taste of Nihari Is only because of the ghee. The mutton was soft and melted. The masala I really don't know how they cooked it but it was yum.

Afghani Chicken
This one was served and had ghee all over. The chicken was soo rich all you diet conscious people should stay away. The chicken came off well, was tender and tasted good.

Changezi Chicken
The chicken was served in a masala prepared using a lot of onions and this dish did not taste or feel extraordinary. It's something we can cook at home. I felt this dish is overrated. Nonetheless, if you are a first timer then you'd love it.

Roshan di Kulfi

Over rated is one word and over priced is another.
The kulfi was rich in texture, but it wasn't drool worthy.
The vermicilli added on top made it even worse.
Firstly there isn't enough kulfi that can be consumed with the vermicilli and if I am paying 95, I better have enough kulfi to be consumed with the vermicilli until the last bite.

Sackleys - the mountain cafe

Lamb Steak
Around 4 pieces of lamb in a mushroom sauce which tasted yum, served with fries, rice and sauted vegetables.
The vegetables were perfectly cooked and the fires were perfect-crisp on the out and tender inside.
But one slice of Lamb was highly undercooked and was inedible. The others were perfectly cooked and tasted perfect.
This sizzler is a must have, I'd say.

Caramel Shake
This was served to me as a complementary because of the fiasco with the steak and mind you this is some good stuff. The taste still lingers and I just want to dive into a pool full of this tuff. Gluttony, I would care less. The chocolate sauce and caramel made the shake thick and the ice cream topping was the feather in the hat. Wow. This one bowled me over.
