Shah Gouze, Towli Chowki

I know I should have been here earlier but it’s 25 kms from my house and not everyday do I come this side but when I did, I knew instantly I would come back again.

Mutton Biryani.

The biryani looks so subtle that you would wonder what the taste will be like but once you dig into your plate you will just fall in love with the dish in one go. The masala used is balanced and gives it the flavor, like it should and you can smell the biryani which is just hypnotizing. Nothing like it. I’d say just go for it, if you have not.

Haleem

The haleem in other places is either too spiced, bland or bony. The haleem from this place was spiced but maintained it’s balance and you can taste chunks of mutton which looks like they were added after the haleem was prepared. What an experience!

Eclair

A coffee break from office and we decided to try it out considering we had heard a lot about this place.
The Lady behind the counter was hospitable and was honest enough to tell us that she wouldn't recommend here veg sandwich as it's still work in progress.

I ordered a Latte
The Latte tasted normal like it would in any other cafe and it's there coz people like me want to have a coffee when in a cafe.

Chocolate Cheese Cake
It had 4 layers to it. On the top was a layer of dark chocolate, chocolate mousse was the 2nd, cheese 3rd and biscuit the 4th. This was too cheesy for my palette(After 3-4 spoons, I felt like I had an over dose of cheese and needed something to munch on for a change of taste to begin again) but then considering it was a cheese cake it tasted yum and reminded me of my days in Delhi. Close but not enough.

Chicken Sandwich.
I'd say go right ahead and pick this up. Lettuce, olives, chicken, mayo, onion and so much more that the taste and the amount you get for just Rs. 60 is most reasonable thing you can get here. I MUST Eat.

The Ambiance is really nice and if only they had a small library, this place would be just perfect. It's good, it's reasonable and it's worth it.

Mist and Cream

Havelock
This is the best by far. It tastes just like bounty. I have not tasted anything like this ever and no other parlour have even come close to the taste of this ice cream. Strong taste of coconut with chocolate sprinkled on top. Must Have

Choco Magic and Black Magic
Choco Magic is apparently the lighter version of Black magic which is supposed to be bitter. But that was not the case.
Both tasted the same and there was no difference. Why spend 175 when you get the same for 125. (Or make sure you there to remind them what you ordered).
It's just like any other chocolate ice cream.

Kiwi
It was bad. It's difficult to replicate the flavour without using flavoured essence that are available in the market. But to reach his own.

The entire concept of nitrogen being used in the preparation is an amazing sight to see.(very common in the states).
So yeah.
Totally worth it.

Coffee Cup

One hell of an ambiance and then that's where it ends.
I loved this place the first time I went there but then the charm soon wore off.
The problem what I see is, he hasn't reinvented the menu and there is limited stuff in every type(sandwich, entrees, etc) to order and for some weird reason they all taste the same.

Cripy chicken in Honey Sauce
This is one hell of a dish. We've got a few vegetables like capicum, brocolli and others deep fried and then mixed with sauces, honey and other ingredients to give it that distinguished taste which is good. You should try this.

Devils White Dream.
The Name sounds really funny. But this is coffee blended with chocolate sauce and Ice cream. Great stuff.

All the cold shakes taste the same somehow. only difference some will have brownie at the bottom which is one unique concept.

Veg Grilled Sandwich.
For starters this is good, Sandwich with coleslaw and that's about it.

Anyways. The taste is good and it's not like it's bad but the charm wares off because there will not be a single dish on the menu that you might get addicted to.

Chef Inam's Steak House

Hotillicious Chicken.

I was told this is going to be all spicy and was it spicy?
Miles away and not one bit spicy.
Can someone please look into what your service guys recommend?

Coming to the chicken - Perfectly cooked, tender and came off easy.
The marinade was of I believe curd, pepper, chilli garlic sauce and others(I am no chef but have some idea).
The taste seemed familiar and it wasn't all that delicious to make sure I recommend the place or head there again.

Ci Gusta

I have been visiting this place only for its Gelatos primarily, the consistency and the taste never fail to disappoint.

Tiramisu:
I tried this dessert after have a less then favourable experience in Via Milano. While I was told that this dessert does not consist alcohol but again the taste should be perfect and it indeed was.
The cake was soft as sponge and cream was sweet like the perfect of sweet and the coffee powder sprinkled on the top did not come out in the taste like I expected it to but nevertheless it was an amazing dessert.
I give this a MUST TRY.

Eat India Company

We had planned for a family dinner for 8 people and booked a reservation here in advance.
We were seated in the right end of the restaurant.
The welcome drink tasted like paani poori ka water. I'll jump right to the starters.

Makai ka Tikka:
As the name itself suggests it was mainly maize and a few herbs. But it did not taste good one bit. Too bland for my taste and dry. I tried eating it with the green chutney they provided yet this starter failed to impress.

Paneer Tikka(Red one)
The Paneer Tikka was the best starter. It was heavy with the right masala in the marinade, topped with chat masala when served. This is something you should have.

Daal Makhni:
Every restaurant has it's own style but this daal was more on the lines of home made daal. I expect the daal to be rich in taste. It could have been better

Butter Paneer Masala:
This too was just like any other restaurant would serve, there was no wow factor in the taste. The masala was more on the khatta side, I couldn't taste butter in the food.

Veg Biryani
This is the only main course that I would pay to eat here. The masala comprised majorly of curd and onions and it tasted nothing like I've ever had before. A veg Biryani that is so good that I can for once not look at chicken. MUST HAVE

This restaurant was not a great visit. I've had a less than decent time at Via Milano and this was no good either.

Guilt Trip

Wow Wow Wow. A visit to this place is surely a trip of guilt.

So we had cup cakes, caramel cheesecake and chocolate estacy as dessert after dinner.

The Cup cakes were amazing it's something I'd suggest you to surely try. I loved the oreo and the dark chocolate Cupcakes. They were out of the world and it's not like others were bad(blueberry velvet and ferrero rocher) they were equally good but not on par.

Chocolate Estacy is something I really want all the chocolate crazy people to try. It's an overload of chocolate. Good stuff.

Now comes the best among everything.
Caramel CheeseCake.

This reminds me of the one I used to have in Delhi but it's even better than that. The taste of caramel and the richness of the cheesecake and the layer at the bottom make it a foodies' delight. Amazing is not the word.

I just loved the taste and the guilt that came along with it. :)

Via Milano

Headed to Via Milano on the New Years for a nice lunch and expected the food to be out of the world thanks to the hype generated after the foodie meet. But neither was the food delightful and neither was the service

Ordered a Cold Coffee which was not available on the menu and what was served was pretty decent. Too much of ice and no matter. I'd give it a pass.
Coming back to the food,

Chicken and pork Bacon Salad
Now I didn't expect it to be great but it was GOOD. Topped with poached egg it indeed tasted different. With a little black pepper sprinkled on the top, the sauce used during the preparation and the crisp bread crumbs made it a decent treat. Lettuce was fresh and the bacon tasted yum.

Bollywood Pizza
This one was different. I had olive oil and basil flavoured base.
The base was perfect and the cheese came out fine. It was perfect in terms of taste and highly balanced with the choice of vegetables. The mushrooms were something I loved picking from the top and eating :D
I'd say try something else if you visit this place - not a place for pizza.

I don't remember the name of the pasta I ordered. It was creamy and a red pasta(I am bad with names and Italian is not something I like, hence such a decent review) and consisted of only a few vegetables with oregano and red chilli flakes. Good but again not something I really go crazy about.

Tiramisu
I expected it to be awesome but it was a disappointment. I've tried this dessert in various places around the city and in Delhi. One thing they all had in common was, the cake wasn't soggy while here it was. I really didn't like the taste of it. The cream and the coffee flavour were perfect but that is something I do not prefer. Though it must be something unique to this place. Not my liking.

Service:
We were not served the bread sticks after we placed the order while all others around were served that. Negative.

I wrote the same on the feedback form and he offered to parcel the bread sticks for me. Seriously?
Firstly, you forget something and offer to parcel it after we are done and leaving?
Is that how a restaurant manages bad service?
If I really wanted those, I would have brought the topic up before I paid my bill not after it.
Coming to paying the bill.
I kept requesting for my bill and it was given to me after 15 minutes. Come on.
While I understand you guys were low on staff citing new year out door catering as a reason but, give the man his bill so that he can atleast leave.

Guys, if you've got a tough day. Crisis management should be handled by someone in charge. I didn't meet anyone who could have taken care of it all.
